History

FENICE was opened in Clifton Village in 1974 by Philip & Dorothy Broom in an effort to bring fashion/quality merchandise to the Bristol area. The shop was started with just 300 pairs of shoes - the most costly pair retailing at 19.95!

Today things have changed. The choice on the high street is enormous - there are shopping malls and designer outlets. But Clifton retains its lively atmosphere and FENICE continues to maintain the quality and style it has always given. There are now 3,000 pairs of shoes on the premises which indicates the growth over the years.

Customers travel from far afield - Glasgow and Truro - London and even Sydney Australia!

They know they will find something special at FENICE.
